Incomplete and not entirely serious mods

Here you can find mods for Dominions II: the Ascension Wars. Modding is not available in the 2.02 release version so you need to apply a patch before using a mod.

Patch 2.06 allows modding of units, nations and scales of dominion. More modding will be available in upcoming patches. Information about modding can be found in the modding.pdf document that is included in the Dominions II patch.

World Mods and Multiple Nation Mods

Black Moon Armies
This zip file will in time contain 6-7 mods independent from each other but all based on the same french comics book, 'Black Moon Chronicles' (or, better, 'Les Chroniques de la Lune Noire'). The fourth mod is now implemented.

Marignon is changed into the Knights of Light, Pythium into the Empire of Lhynn, Caelum into the Knights of Justice and Tien C'hi into the Black Moon.
The zip file contains 3 nation mods, independent from each other (4 directories for graphics, 4 dm files, 4 mod banners).

Orcish Empire
Abysia and T'ien Ch'i are replaced by two rival nation of orcs. The old red Empire with some armoured infantry, catapults, some mercenary ogers and a mighty warriorlord. In the renegate Tribes, no armour is used, but most warriors are stealthy, which brings some flexibility into their tactics. They neither use warmachines nor hire oger mercenerys. Their leader is a mighty shaman. This mod is best for only two nations in game and played by 2 human players versus each other.

UlmPunk (version 1.1)

Kami Mod
A mod changing the nation of Vanheim into a collection of creatures based on Japanese Myth.
Usually these creatures (kami, or spirit creatures) were the teachers and/or enemies of the samurai heroes.

Kami in Japanese lore range between all living things to ghosts, inanimate objects and the dead. Sometimes kami do good deeds in the world, and sometimes they wreck havoc. Kami have supernatural powers; but they also have the magical ability to affect natural phenomena. According to Japanese belief, some kami are the root of all disasters, both natural and man-made.

Japanese kami are not altogether evil but are tricksters and enjoy playing practical jokes. In the Edo period performers began to depict the kami with humour, especially in Netsuke figures. This was a way in which the people equated the kami with the upper classes; also this was a way to mock the heavy-handed feudal rule.

Design of this mod took into account the possible use of this mod as the primary opponent to the Ashikaga mod. Thanks to 'The Potatoman' for creation of the Ashikaga mod.

Oglala
This mod made by Thinktank replaces T'ien Chi with the horse loving nation of Oglala.

All seems quiet on the prairie, not a sound can be heard, although occassionally a circling hawk can be seen overhead. Then suddenly, dust fills the air and the sound of hoofbeats and the tremulo of the warcry is all around you, and the air whines with arrows...

Ben Sones Skins

Installation:
1. Unpack the skins file. There you will find 4 different skins to choose from.
2. In your /dominions2 root folder, find the files "guiborder2.tga" and "mapbg.tga" and rename them "guiborder2_OLD.tga" and "mapbg_OLD.tga" (just in case you want to switch back)..
3. Unzip the file you want to use into your /dominions2 root folder.

Empowermod
Description: I made this mod in the attempt to make those units I rarely use more worthwile. I was inspired by Targas Mighty Militia mod which explains the similarities in the editing I've done, and this also means my mod is not compatible with his. Basicly I just made the different kind of militia sacred. Also I have strengthened Pangeas units a bit, since I felt they were not on par with those in the other factions. Plus the Return of the Raptors fighter units and Broken Empires Preatorian Guard have been improved.This mod changes all militia into fanatics.

Version 1.1: I made this mod in the attempt to make those units I rarely use more worthwile. I have since then expanded the editing to make minor improvements to a whole lot of units I felt were a wee bit 'challanged'. I also incorporated all the changes Saber Cherry made in his 'Prepatch 2.073' mod as well as Targas 'Mighty Militia' since I unfortunatly happened to make mine uncompatible with both of theirs but still wanted to use them.
